30Aug

First of all, I cannot believe that it's already August 30. That puts me, Ginge, and Holly on the road for 7-1/2 weeks! Wow - Holly, the "Peace-keeper" is really doing a good job. Ginge and I are getting along fabulously.

This morning we woke at the Bryce National Park Campground called the Sunset Campground. It was primitive, which means that we had no power provided. When that happens we use the generator on the RV for certain things, but State and National Parks usually limit generator use to a couple of hours in the morning and again in the evening. The park was lovely and quiet. We took a hike this morning - just over a mile, which was fine with me after yesterday's amazing hike of 4.5 miles into Bryce Canyon. Check out photos in the section of this blog called Photo Galleries

Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park is a state park in southwestern Utah, United States, located between Mount Carmel Junction and Kanab, south and west of U.S. Highway 89 in Kane County. The park features uniquely pink-hued sand dunes located beside red sandstone cliffs.

Upon entering we were warned of Rattlesnakes and Scorpions - a bit different from Bears - which we were warned about but never actually saw~! Disappointing, but hey, I now have bear spray should I ever need it.

Watching kids come and go from the Visitor's center here who are returning these wooden 'surf-boards' after hitting the dunes. Just crazy and a big deal here. Not sure that I'll be doing it, but it's fun to watch, nonetheless.

We were just told by the ranger that monsoon is over (3-days of dry weather) which is good for us, but not so good for Utah. Incredibly dry here. Drought - so sad and evident of Global warming. I hope that the Republicans of Utah and other drought-ridden States take note of the suffering that is happening.

Okay, that's it for tonight. More tomorrow. .
